Description
“Harbour” is the fifth Chapbook or Photozine from Simon, based on his personal photography.
This Chapbook “Harbour” is A5 in size, made up of 36 pages and featuring 22 photos captured by Simon. Thoughtfully printed on quality, heavy-duty paper (more details below), only 200 will ever be printed of these limited-edition chapbooks. Each one is numbered.
From inside the back cover;
‘One square kilometre of water bounded by some 1.5 million cubic metres of hewn rock, Dún Laoghaire Harbour was the largest man-made harbour when the world population reached 1 billion.
Developed at the fishing hamlet of Dunleary, rebranded as Kingstown after the visit of King George IV in 1821, the port was renamed Dún Laoghaire after independence in 1921.
Ferries, prison hulks, coal bulkers, lightships, submarines, and seaplanes have come and gone. Sailboats, trawlers, frigates and the occasional cruise ship still come and go.
As do we, generation after generation.
